The excitement surrounding the upcoming DC film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is reaching new heights as the first official teaser poster was unveiled at CinemaCon. As the final DC Studios release of the year, and the only project without a marketing campaign yet, fans are eagerly waiting for any news about the sequel.
The teaser poster showcases the Aquaman logo stylized as if it’s a bubble underwater against a background resembling the deep sea. This imagery is sure to send chills down the spines of those with thalassophobia, the fear of the deep sea. Although the poster does not feature Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa), it still manages to captivate the audience and tease what’s to come.

The Lost Kingdom is a sequel to 2018’s Aquaman, which stars Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry, the Aquaman, alongside an impressive cast of Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, Amber Heard as Xebel princess Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the vengeful Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as Mera’s father King Nereus, and Temuera Morrison and Nicole Kidman as Arthur’s parents. The film is directed by James Wan, who helmed the first installment, and written by returning Aquaman writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick from a story by Wan, Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, and Momoa.
Originally scheduled for release last December, the film’s release was delayed to March 17th. However, the studio eventually gave that date to Shazam! Fury of the Gods, pushing the release date back to December 20th. As the movie is set to open exclusively in theaters, fans can expect a thrilling cinematic experience that will transport them to the depths of the ocean and beyond.
The upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and the recently unveiled teaser poster has only increased fans’ excitement. With a talented cast and crew, stunning visuals, and an engaging storyline, this film promises to be an unforgettable adventure for fans of the superhero genre. So mark your calendars for December 20th and get ready to dive into the depths of the ocean with Aquaman and his allies.
