Brandon Sklenar Just Dropped the Biggest Batman Hint Yet!

By Sebastian Kind Aug 1, 2025

Brandon Sklenar may be on his way to becoming Gotham’s next protector. The actor’s intense physical transformation has fans convinced that he’s preparing to play Batman in James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe.

The buzz started after celebrity trainer Wesley Wilson posted a ripped, shirtless photo of Sklenar on Instagram. The caption caught everyone’s attention:

“Training one of my best friends for his biggest role yet has been a f**king blast. We pushed through the hard days and maximized the good. This is the result of showing up day after day for months and months. Hitting 2+ hour grueling workouts and eating enough elk and salmon to feed a freaking village.”

Naturally, the phrase “biggest role yet” triggered major speculation online—many immediately guessed it could be Batman.

Fans Are Convinced Brandon Sklenar Is Playing Batman

Fans quickly flooded Sklenar’s Instagram, tagging DC Studios head James Gunn and pushing the theory further. But this isn’t the first time Brandon Sklenar has teased the idea. A few months back, he reposted fan art that imagined him as Batman, prompting even more online chatter.

Then came the moment that fueled the fire even more.

A fan commented:

“The comic book fandom is fighting very hard to cast you as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the new DCU.”

Sklenar replied with just a bat emoji (🦇)—a subtle yet effective nod that neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, but definitely played into them.

Brandon Sklenar’s Age and Roles Make Him a Perfect Fit for Batman

The speculation doesn’t come without reason. James Gunn’s DC Universe is already taking shape with David Corenswet as Superman and Millie Alcock as Supergirl. However, one major character is still missing—Batman.

Gunn has openly stated that the DCU’s Batman won’t be middle-aged. That rules out older fan favorites like Jensen Ackles, who is now 47. Even though Ackles starred in Countdown as a gritty LAPD detective—what many fans saw as a perfect “Batman audition”—his age doesn’t align with Gunn’s long-term plans.

On the other hand, Brandon Sklenar is 34—right in line with Corenswet’s age of 31—and fits the younger Batman profile Gunn is aiming for.

Sklenar’s resume also backs up the hype. He starred opposite Harrison Ford in 1923, appeared in It Ends With Us alongside Blake Lively, and will be seen in the 2025 thriller Drop. Each performance has earned him praise for both looks and talent, two traits essential for a compelling Bruce Wayne.

While there’s still no official confirmation, the clues are piling up. Between his bat emoji response, his physical transformation, and the timing of Gunn’s unannounced Batman, Brandon Sklenar might just be the next Dark Knight. And if the internet buzz is any indication, fans are more than ready to see him take on the role.
