The upcoming DCEU Movie Batgirl has begun filming, confirms the director.
The recent Instagram post shared by Co-director Adil El Arbi shows that the filming of the Batgirl movie has been started. Arbi shared a picture of the clapperboard with the Batgirl logo along with a nameplate written with ‘Officer Barbara Gordon’. Here is the recently shared post on Instagram:
It is noticeable from this post that it’s been a day of Batgirl shooting. The center attraction of Batgirl is Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. This character was introduced first during the 1967 Batman series with the late Yvonne Craig playing Barbara.
The first appearance of Batgirl was seen in Detective Comics #357 written by Gardner Fox and artist Carmine Infantino. Batgirl movie is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and scripted by Christina Hodson who wrote the scripts for Birds of Prey and the upcoming Flash movie.
The last appearance of Barbara Gordon was in live-action big feature of Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, released in 1997. In Batgirl, actor Brendan Fraser will be playing the Villain Firefly. The Batgirl movie is expected to release in 2022, which will be premiered on HBO Max.
