Gal Gadot has recently teased her potential return to the DC Universe after the cancelation of Wonder Woman 3. Although the third installment of the Wonder Woman franchise has been scrapped, there are still hopes that Gadot’s tenure as the iconic Amazonian may not be over.

Director Patty Jenkins reportedly fought with Warner Bros. over the direction of the film, with some sources suggesting that Jenkins thought the studio “didn’t understand the character, didn’t understand character arcs.” Despite this, new DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have seemingly left the door open for Gadot to come back.
Gadot’s potential return to the DC Universe was teased on her personal Twitter account after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly expressed her desire to team up with Gadot on-screen in a comic book movie. Gadot replied to the tweet, saying “let’s do it.”

However, it remains unclear whether Gadot is officially done as DC’s iconic Amazonian. While the upcoming Flash film has cut a cameo of Gadot’s DC superhero, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has responded to fans who assumed Gadot had been “booted,” telling them “I’m not sure where you’re getting that we ‘booted’ Gal.” Gun stated that he contacted her to discuss ways to open doors for her Wonder Woman to his DCU reboot.

Gadot is expected to appear in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which releases in theaters on Friday, March 17. Although a Wonder Woman-related project is on the way from DC Comics without Gadot, fans remain hopeful that the actress will make a super-powered return to the DC Universe.
