Henry Cavill says that he’s looking forward to play as Superman again in the future.

Henry Cavill wants to play Superman again. Cavill doesn’t appear to be done with Superman. He thinks there’s still a lot of stories to tell about the Kryptonian Legend. After debuting as Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, the whole world convinced that Henry Cavill was the best Superman of modern era. From 2013’s Man of Steel to 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, fans celebrated his performance and wanted more from his role as Superman. Fans have been demanding the studio for a Man Of Steel Sequel for such a long time but the studio never had a positive response.

Now the actor himself have responded to this unanswered question. In an recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill said that he wants more chances to explore as Superman. Cavill also stated that his desire to return to the role doesn’t mean he’s not on board with the other Superman projects in development. He said that there is still “a lot of storytelling” for him to do as the iconic superhero and would love the opportunity. Cavill told to The Hollywood Reporter as:

The killing of Zod gave a reason for the character never to kill again. Superman falling to the ground and screaming afterward — I don’t think that was originally in the script, but I wanted to show the pain he had. I did far more emotional takes they didn’t choose; tears were happening. He just killed the last remaining member of his species. That’s the choice he made in that moment, and he’ll never do that again. There’s an opportunity for growth after that, to explore the psyche of Superman as a deep, seemingly invulnerable god-like being but with real feeling on the inside. As I always say, ‘The cape is still in the closet.

As his future as a Superman remains uncertain, Cavill is the star of The Witcher Season 2, which will be premiered on Netflix next December. Stay tune for all the latest updates on all of DC’s upcoming projects.
