During the promotions of his new film Beast, Elba told entertainment journalist Erik Davis that he has “a really big thing cooking” for his DC return.

Davis wrote:
"
I just spoke with Idris Elba about his new film Beast. I asked what we’ll see him in next – a Marvel project or DC, and he said DC. He said he’s got a really big thing cooking for DC right now.

Here’s what Elba recently said to Variety in an interview while promoting “Beast”:
"
I would definitely like to tell the Superman story. There’s no doubt. Bloodsport versus Superman. It needs to happen.
"
Bloodsport was thrown into Belle Reve Penitentiary because he shot Superman with a Kryptonite bullet and sent the Man of Steel into the ICU. Bloodshot also survived the battle against Starro and was last seen blackmailing Amanda Waller into setting his team free by the end of the movie. It is not a secret that the DCEU has been lacking in the Superman projects lately.

The fans are waiting for return of beloved Henry Cavill Superman. A movie featuring Bloodsport vs Superman fight would be interesting and can present Bloodsport’s past and present together in big screen. For now, We will have to wait to see if Bloodsport will have a future in the DCEU and if Cavill will return as Superman.
