DC Studios is officially beginning to fill out its DCU roster, and James Gunn has just added another Justice League hero to the mix.
A Justice League Hero in Superman:Legacy!

Anthony Carrigan, who is best known for his roles in Barry and Gotham, has been cast as Metamorpho in Superman: Legacy. The hero’s primary power is that he can change his body to any element, and he has popped up in both the Justice League and Justice League Europe since he began appearing in DC comics in 1965.
Gunn is clearly excited about the casting, as he took to Twitter to say that he is “unbelievably excited” for Metamorpho. He also took to Instagram to celebrate the news, stating that Metamorpho is one of his “all-time favorite characters.“
Carrigan is also excited about the role, as he commented on Gunn’s post, saying “Honored. Psyched. Ready. Let’s go.”

I am unbelievably excited for Metamorpho (and this opportunity to work with Anthony Carrigan.) https://t.co/tdWrBsX1il

A Heroic Future Awaits The Justice League!
With the addition of Metamorpho, Superman: Legacy is shaping up to be a major DC event. The film already stars David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and it also features Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabella Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific. With these cast and characters, Gunn’s DC Universe has a heroic scope for the Justice League movie.
It’s unclear if Metamorpho will be a member of the Justice League in Superman: Legacy, but it’s certainly a possibility. He is a founding member of the Outsiders, a team full of heroes that don’t fit the typical norms of the heroic community. Could Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, Isabella Merced’s Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific be a version of this team in Superman: Legacy?
Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: James Gunn is assembling an all-star cast for his DCU.
