Hollywood actor Jared Leto thinks it’s the time for Warner Brothers to release The David Ayer’s cut of Suicide Squad.

Being busy promoting his upcoming movie House of Gucci, Jared Leto told Variety‘s Marc Malkin on Thursday night at the Los Angeles premiere Academy Museum that he wants David Ayer’s cut ‘Suicide Squad’ to be released.

”Absolutely! Why not?” the actor told Variety‘s Marc Malkin during the premier. ”Why wouldn’t they? I mean, that’s what streaming’s for, right?”. Previously David Ayer wrote on Twitter that The studio cut is not his movie. He said:

I made something amazing. My cut is intricate and emotional journey with some bad people who are shit on and discarded (a theme that resonates in my soul). The studio cut is not my movie. Read that again. And my cut is not the 10-week director’s cut – it’s a fully mature edit by Lee Smith standing on the incredible work by John Gilroy. It’s all Steven Price’s brilliant score, with not a single radio song in the whole thing. It has traditional character arcs, amazing performances, a solid third-act resolution. A handful of people have seen it.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League and  David Ayer’s Suicide Squad were meant to be similar in tone but certain incidents during the post-production led the studio to interfere with the direction David Ayer was heading. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released on HBO Max with the support of passionate fans of Zack Snyder. Even though David Ayer is a well-known writer and filmmaker, he lacks a passionate fan base compared to Zack Snyder. As a result, David Ayer’s original vision for Suicide Squad is left out in Warner bros. archive. David Ayer is mostly recognized in Hollywood for his movies like Training Day and Fury. And fans did expect a great movie from him back in 2016, but the output was disappointing. It is saddening to watch a filmmaker like David Ayer, requesting the fans to support his vision. Now it’s all up to us to make his vision come true as we did it before, we can do it again.
