DC fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming release of The Flash, and Aquaman star Jason Momoa is just as excited as everyone else. The film will see the iconic DC Comics character Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, take on the pivotal story of Flashpoint, a storyline that is set to reset the entire DC Universe. As the DC Universe goes through a revitalization under James Gunn and Peter Safran, The Flash recently released a thrilling first trailer during the Super Bowl, which Momoa has decided to hype up in a new post.

Momoa and Miller first worked together on the ill-fated 2017 Justice League movie. Despite the disappointing outcome of that film, Momoa remains supportive of Miller, and the two have remained friends. In his recent Instagram post, Momoa shared The Flash’s new trailer, expressing his support for his friend and co-star with a heartfelt caption that included an affectionate “Love you, Ezra.”

The Flash movie, directed by Andy Muschietti, is set to loosely adapt the iconic DC Comics Flash-centric event Flashpoint. The recent Super Bowl trailer showcased that focal story point, with Miller’s Barry Allen choosing to be in a timeline where his mother was alive. This particular story arc is known for featuring many other DC characters, including Wonder Woman and Aquaman, who were involved in a big Amazon/Atlantean war. However, that plot point doesn’t appear in the movie, as backed up by The Flash Super Bowl trailer, which contained no hints to the storyline at all.

While it is uncertain if Momoa will appear in The Flash, it has been reported that Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot filmed scenes as Superman and Wonder Woman for the movie, but both were cut. If Gadot was in the movie, the comic book connection between her character and Momoa’s likely points to the actor not showing up in it either. The Flash’s multiverse aspect is undoubtedly its main selling point, which the recent trailer excelled at displaying. The trailer included Miller’s Barry Allen befriending an alternate version of himself, who will tag along with the main hero for the remainder of the movie.

Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, who will be taking over Superman’s role in the original Flashpoint, is another exciting new addition to the DC Universe. In the trailer, she is shown in the same prison situation as Kal-El. Michael Shannon will also reprise his General Zod role from Man of Steel in the movie, with the trailer suggesting he is the main villain of The Flash. Multiple Batman actors appear in The Flash, with Ben Affleck reteaming with his Justice League co-star and Michael Keaton returning after 31 years to the role.

All in all, The Flash is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the DC Universe, and Momoa’s support for his friend and co-star Ezra Miller is just the icing on the cake. The film’s multiverse aspect and the inclusion of new characters like Supergirl are sure to entice audiences, and the return of beloved actors like Michael Keaton will surely make longtime fans happy. DC fans can look forward to the film’s release on June 16 and see for themselves what the future of the DC Universe holds.
