As the sequel to the film is currently in the works, the director of the film, Todd Phillips, recently shared the picture of the script while revealing the title of the film.
Folie à Deux is defined as a psychological disorder where the same or similar mental disorder affects two or more people. While there weren’t plans for a sequel originally, Warner Bros. reportedly signed Phillips to write a sequel, and Phillips said he needed time to think of ideas for another instalment. He previously said he would not return for a sequel unless he could find “some thematic resonance” like in the first film. Now it looks like the director got what he was looking for.

Along with the script’s photo, he also included a picture of the Academy Award Winner Joaquin Phoenix who portrayed the role of Arthur Fleck aka The Joker – reading the script. This can confirm that the actor will be back to reprise his role in the sequel to the 2019 film. Also returning for the sequel is Phillips’ co-writer Scott Silver, whose credit appears on the script’s photo.
