Keanu Reeves is super interested in reprising his role as John Constantine from Francis Lawrence directed ‘Constantine’ movie.
He has talked a few times regarding his love towards the role of Constantine. Keanu Reeves has revealed that he had tried a lot to get the Constantine role. But he couldn’t able to get this role as the studios shown a little interest towards him.
Here is what Keanu Reeves shares recently with Stephen Colbert:
“I would love to play John Constantine again from the Constantine movie. I’ve tried, I’ve tried, Stephen. I would love to.”
Keanu Reeves stepped first to the role as Constantine during 2005. The Constantine movie borrowed elements from various storylines of DC Comics Hellblazer, where he found himself wrapped in the war between Hell and Heaven.
Constantine hits theaters during 2005 with the ensemble cast led by Reeves and Rachel Weisz. These film grossed over $230 million over $100 million budget. Various future plans of Constantine role are yet to be released.
Keanu Reeves had tried well to get the role back again. Though the first Constantine role had created modest box office report. It was not received as much as they expected. Along with this Warner Bros. is plotting various adaptations of characters involving recasting of J.J. Abrams’ Justice League Dark universe at HBO Max.
The recent interview with Colbert indicates that the actor Keanu is very much interested and enjoys to return as a strong wave towards the Constantine 2. Huge audience support towards Keanu Reeves can be expected to make his desire to play constantine as true. We can expect a positive response from Warner Bros. so that the Keanu could set back to his desired role as Constantine again.
