Marvel’s Eternals actress Lauren Ridloff addressed the debate on who would win in a race between Marvels’ Makkari and DC’s The Flash.
Makkari is the latest speedster to join the MCU. In Eternals, We also got to see a fresh take on the super-speed in the MCU by Makkari, who had these powers for centuries.
Each time a new Speedster character is introduced, they are instantly set against The Flash and we all know why. During an interview with CineXpress, Lauren Ridloff shared her thoughts on who would win in a race between The Flash and Makkari and we found her response funny. From her response it is pretty clear that she doesn’t know much about The Flash. Here’s what she said:

Okay, so this is a conversation I had with my son. When he first found out that I was going to be the fastest woman in the universe he said, ‘No you’re not.’ He brought over his laptop and looked into the computer and said, ‘Look! It’s true! Flash is faster than Makkari.’ But I’m sure Makkari…because she travels faster than the speed of sound.

First of all, lets make it clear that the speed of sound is about 343 m/s whereas the speed of light is about 300,000,000 m/s which is 874,635 times faster than sound. Zack Snyders Justice League introduced one of the fastest versions of Flash on screen. In the final act of the movie Barry Allen ran faster than the speed of light to reverse time.
If Lauren Ridloff actually did some homework and read up on her own character, she would have known that Makkari and The Flash actually raced in the comic books in Quasar #17 and #58.
Late Mark Gruenwald, who was Marvel Comics editor and writer, happened to be a huge DC fan. Gruenwald couldn’t use The Flash, so Gruenwald gave a tribute to The Flash and came up with the character “Buried Alien”. It’s really Barry Allen. Quasar #17 has a cosmic race featuring every Marvel speedster on Earth where the Buried Alien appears in a flash and wins the race, much to Makkari’s dismay. But in Quasar #58, Buried Alien was known as Fast Forward. Even against someone as fast as Makkari, Fast Forward turned out to be even faster and showed that the Flash is the fastest man alive in any universe. ⚡
