In late 2022, the news that Henry Cavill’s time as Superman had come to an end was confirmed by the new co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn. It was announced that the new Superman movie would feature a younger version of the superhero, which was certainly disappointing news for fans of Cavill’s portrayal of the iconic character.
To make matters worse, many were hoping to see him make a cameo in DC Studios’ upcoming film, The Flash, after his appearance in the post-credits scene of Black Adam. Unfortunately, it seems that Cavill’s role in The Flash will be limited to repurposed footage from Justice League.

Geeks Worldwide’s KC Walsh recently shared an update on Cavill’s involvement in The Flash, revealing that the footage of him appearing in the Speedforce is repurposed from Justice League and that it doesn’t include any new material that was filmed for the film.
“Cavill does appear in the Speedforce but it’s just repurposed ‘JL’ footage, not the big surprise,” Walsh tweeted.
Fans were also curious about the scene that Cavill was rumored to have filmed at the same time as his Black Adam cameo, but Walsh confirmed that this scene won’t be included in The Flash.
“They did but that scene is gone, now it’s just old ‘JL’ footage,” he said.

Despite the disappointment surrounding Cavill’s limited involvement in The Flash, fans are still eagerly anticipating the film’s release on July 16th. With the inclusion of several other beloved DC characters, it’s sure to be an exciting addition to the DCU.
