James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy has sparked curiosity and a bit of controversy with the surprising casting of Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, the iconic Green Lantern. However, recent character design reveals may just put fans’ worries to rest.

Gunn, known for his creative prowess, shared mesmerizing fan art on Instagram, envisioning Fillion in the role of Guy Gardner. Crafted by the talented Davi Alves, the artwork captures Fillion in Gardner’s signature Green Lantern attire, hinting at what fans can expect in the DC Universe film.

The artwork, which follows previous reveals featuring Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl and Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, suggests that Fillion’s portrayal will stay true to Gardner’s comic book roots. The only looming question remains – will Fillion embrace the character’s notorious bowl cut?

Superman: Legacy, a highly anticipated project, promises an exploration of Clark Kent’s origins and the challenges he faces juggling his dual identities as Clark Kent and Superman. With a stellar cast including David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and an ensemble of DC Universe heroes, the film aims to delve into the superhero’s rich legacy spanning over 80 years.

Gunn and producer Peter Safran have outlined their ambitious vision for the DC Universe, emphasizing a cohesive narrative across various media platforms. The film, part of an overarching eight-year plan, seeks to integrate elements from past DC regimes, offering a fresh perspective without a full reboot.

As Superman: Legacy takes flight, fans eagerly await the cinematic portrayal of Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, anticipating how this unexpected casting choice will contribute to the enduring legacy of DC’s iconic superhero universe.
