Henry Cavil is potentially making an appearance at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, according to some major reports.

Comic-con is one of the biggest events for comic-book companies. It’s been two years without an in-person comic-con because of the ongoing pandemic. The San Diego Comic-Con will finally kick off this Thursday and there are a hell lot of rumors coming in. Deadline shared that Henry Cavill will potentially make a “surprise” appearance to reveal more Superman at Warner Bros.’ Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Henry Cavill was first introduced as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, before appearing as the character again in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Joss Whedon-Massacre Justice League. Superman later appeared in both Shazam! and Peacemaker but Henry Cavill’s face was not shown in either instance. In Justice League, Cavill’s Superman appeared with CGI lips and weird dialogues which literally turned the character into a joke. The release of the Snyder Cut revived Cavill’s Superman with several iconic Superman moments but his future in the role has been uncertain for some time now. it appears he is about to return as the Last Son of Krypton.

The report indicate that Henry Cavill will be appearing at Comic-Con this weekend to “talk up more Superman”.

“Dwayne Johnson and the Warner Bros theatrical session will serve as Marvel’s opening act earlier in the day, with Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods getting their much-deserved closeups on the Hall H stage. There’s also buzz that Henry Cavill will put in a surprise appearance to talk up more Superman.” (via Deadline)

While it is unknown why Henry Cavill would make a surprise appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there are endless possibilities. Cavill could appear as part of Black Adam’s cast, cementing his return as the DCEU’s Superman. A previous rumor also stated that Superman will have a faceless cameo in Black Adam, but this report could debunk that if Cavill goes on to make an actual appearance in the movie. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself has recently tweeted that his Black Adam will face Superman at some point.
From back in the day when I was wrestling in flea markets for $40 bucks a match, all the way to now.

Aside from being involved in Black Adam, Henry Cavill can return for a Man of Steel sequel or a future team-up movie with Zachary Levi’s Shazam. Let’s wait and wait.
