The Batman Part 2

Recently, James Gunn shut down speculation surrounding The Batman Part 2. Specifically, a rumor claimed that DC Studios blocked Matt Reeves from using a “realistic” version of Clayface, which supposedly caused delays in the script.

Gunn dismissed it outright on Threads, stating:

“What? Where does this stuff come from? No — it’s the same exact script it has been from the beginning.”

As a result, no script changes have occurred, and the story remains exactly as originally planned. Therefore, fans can rest assured that creative decisions continue to remain in Reeves’ hands.

Why Casting Updates Are Still Pending in The Batman Part 2

Gunn also explained why there have been no casting announcements yet. Since The Batman Part 2 is not in production, DC Studios typically avoids early announcements unless information is about to leak.

As a result, fans should not expect official confirmations for the supporting cast at this time. Several characters from the first film are expected to return, which will maintain continuity within the story.
