Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Black Manta who is the main villain in Aquaman franchise. In a recent interview with THR, Abdul Mateen II talked about his role in Aquaman & the Lost Kingdom and the DC Universe.
During the interview he said:

“That’s one of those questions that I’ve kind of gotta be tight-lipped about. But I am excited about what Dwayne’s gonna bring. There’s a lot of new blood and new energy into this DC world right now. And, hopefully, it continues along the line of that trend.”

Although some projects are more appealing than others, the DC movie lineup doesn’t appears to be expanding and connecting, which was one of the promised plans by Warner Media CEO, Ann Sarnoff few weeks ago. It is still unknown whether the world will see The Ayer Cut of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, Ben Affleck’s Batman Film or Zack Snyder’s Justice League continuation, there is still a complete stream of ongoing projects to satisfy most fans, which will likely open doors for more growth in the DCEU.
