Robin Wright, the accomplished actress best known for her roles in “House of Cards” and “Forrest Gump,” is hoping to reprise her role as Antiope in the upcoming “Wonder Woman” prequel series, “Paradise Lost.” The series is set to air on HBO Max and will take viewers back to Themyscira, the island where the Amazonian warriors reside, before the birth of Diana, also known as Wonder Woman.

Wright played the role of Antiope, the general of the Amazonian army and Diana’s aunt and mentor, in the first “Wonder Woman” movie, and then again in the sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984.” While her character met a tragic end in the first film, she returned for a flashback scene in the sequel, giving Wright hope that she could reprise the role once again in “Paradise Lost.”

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Wright expressed her enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I loved playing an Amazon. I kinda feel like I was the leader of an Amazon tribe in my past life. I haven’t received that call (about ‘Paradise Lost’) yet. Maybe I’m too old!” Wright also urged the producers to “make that happen for me,” indicating her eagerness to return to the role of Antiope.

Wright’s desire to return to the role is not surprising, as she clearly has a passion for playing strong female characters, as evidenced by her acclaimed performance as Claire Underwood in “House of Cards.” She also spoke about the importance of female empowerment in film and suggested that an Amazonian movie could be a powerful example of that. “Why don’t you write the Amazon movie?” she said to Patty Jenkins, the director of the “Wonder Woman” films. “Young girls want to see that – it’s real female empowerment.”

It’s unclear whether Jenkins, who recently left the development of “Wonder Woman 3,” will be involved in “Paradise Lost” or any other upcoming DC Universe projects. However, with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm, fans of the DC Universe can expect a slate of exciting new shows on HBO Max, including “Waller,” featuring Viola Davis as Amanda Waller from “Suicide Squad,” and a Green Lantern series.

As for Wright, it’s clear that she has a deep connection to her role as Antiope and a genuine enthusiasm for the “Wonder Woman” franchise. Fans can only hope that the producers of “Paradise Lost” take note of her desire to return to the role and give her the chance to once again portray one of the strongest and most inspiring characters in the DC Universe.
