Pom Klementieff’s DCU Role in the Fortress of Solitude

Pom Klementieff’s DCU role now has official confirmation. The Guardians of the Galaxy star will debut in Superman, hitting theaters on July 11, 2025.

Speaking with Buzzfeed Australia, director James Gunn revealed that Klementieff voices one of the robots in Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. This voice role also reunites her with Guardians co-stars Bradley Cooper and Michael Rooker.

“Pom Klementieff is one of the robots,” Gunn revealed. “In that same scene, it’s Bradley [Cooper], it’s also Pom, and Michael Rooker is another one of the robots.”

Also joining the robot ensemble is Alan Tudyk, adding even more star power to this mysterious Fortress scene. Cooper and Rooker’s involvement had been previously teased, but Klementieff’s confirmation is brand new — and significant.

Although her role is voice-only, this marks Pom Klementieff’s first official credited appearance in the DCU. She had a brief cameo in The Suicide Squad (2021), but this time it’s part of Gunn’s unified vision for the new DC Universe.

Could She Return in a Bigger Role?

Given Gunn’s track record of casting actors he trusts across multiple projects, it’s highly possible that Klementieff’s role could grow over time. Her Fortress robot debut may be subtle, but it plants the seed for future appearances — perhaps in live-action.

What to Know About Superman

Superman is the first major film in DC Studios’ new continuity, Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. It stars:

  • David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman
  • Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane
  • Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor

Written and directed by James Gunn, this film promises a modern, yet refreshingly classic take on Superman — one that not only emphasizes hope, heart, and heroism, but also grounds the character firmly in today’s world.

As a result, Superman soars into theaters and IMAX on July 11, 2025, marking the beginning of the new DC Universe.
