Penguin & Harley Quinn

At the premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Colin Farrell responded to Margot Robbie’s interest in a Penguin & Harley Quinn team-up. Although he playfully doubted their potential as a “hot couple,” he still embraced the chaotic dynamic they could bring to the screen. Earlier, in an August 2025 Variety interview, Margot Robbie had described the duo as potentially “hot” and “demented,” which naturally sparked excitement among DC fans.

When asked by Entertainment Tonight about Robbie’s comments, Farrell quipped:

“I can’t imagine that. That’s for the Penguin’s Perspective.”

He also clarified that the idea of a crossover might have been misunderstood:

“I don’t think what she meant by crossover is what you received.”

Despite this, Farrell embraced the concept of their characters interacting, noting:

“It would be a blast.”

The Chaotic Appeal of a Penguin & Harley Quinn Partnership

Furthermore, Farrell compared the potential dynamic to his experiences filming The Penguin HBO series with Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone. He explained that he enjoyed their chaotic on-screen chemistry, noting it as one of his favorite aspects of the series:

“Some of my favorite scenes on the HBO series The Penguin were the ones in which Oz and Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Gigante were ‘pals.’ I was sure that the experience of sharing the screen with Robbie’s Harley Quinn would be similar.”

Already, fans are imagining the mischief that could arise from a Penguin & Harley Quinn alliance. Furthermore, the combination of the Penguin’s calculating nature along with Harley Quinn’s unpredictable antics could easily create a perfect storm of humor, chaos, and unexpected team-ups throughout the DC Universe.

Future Possibilities for DC’s Iconic Characters

While no official crossover plans exist, both Farrell and Robbie have shown interest in exploring this dynamic. Robbie last played Harley Quinn in the DCEU. Farrell’s Penguin will return in The Batman Part II (2027).

Speculation continues to grow among fans as they wonder how DC might integrate these two characters in upcoming films or series. Moreover, with both actors endorsing the idea, a future collaboration—whether on the big screen or in a spinoff series—remains an exciting possibility for the entire DC fanbase.
