Zack Snyder has once again sparked discussion among DC fans after revealing that he recently spent time at the Warner Bros. lot. Although the filmmaker did not share any details about the purpose of the visit, his latest social media post has already fueled speculation about what could come next.
However, nothing currently suggests that Snyder discussed a DC project during the meeting. Even so, Snyder’s history with Warner Bros. has left many fans wondering about a future collaboration.
Zack Snyder Confirms His Visit to Warner Bros.
Snyder recently shared an Instagram post confirming that he had visited Warner Bros. alongside several industry colleagues. The director kept the caption simple, writing:
“Hanging out with a bunch of amazing people today down at the WB.”
Naturally, the post immediately attracted attention from fans, many of whom began speculating about a potential return to the DC universe. Nevertheless, Snyder did not mention any upcoming projects, and the meeting could have been related to any number of non-DC productions currently in development.
Zack Snyder Previously Opened Up About His Relationship With Warner Bros.
Snyder remains closely associated with DC heroes like Superman and Batman. However, his relationship with Warner Bros. became strained after he left Justice League.
During a 2021 interview, Snyder addressed the situation directly:
“Warner Bros. has been aggressively anti-Snyder if you will. What can I say? Clearly, they’re not interested in my take. But I would also say that they certainly weren’t interested in — I would have said originally — in my take on Justice League. They certainly made decisions about that.”
The filmmaker also expressed admiration for the passionate fan base that continues to support his vision.
“I love the characters, and I love the worlds, and I think it’s an amazing place to make a movie. It’s glorious IP. So there’s that. I don’t know what could be done as you go forward other than I think the fan movement is so strong, and the fan community, [their] intention is so pure, and I really have this huge respect for it.”
He continued:
“I would hope that cooler heads would prevail with [the studio] and they would see that there’s this massive fandom that wants more of that.”
Could Zack Snyder Return to Warner Bros. for a DC Project?
Despite the speculation surrounding his recent Warner Bros. visit, there has been no official announcement linking Snyder to any upcoming DC movie.
That said, the director has previously made it clear that he would be open to returning under the right circumstances.
“You know, I’m a pretty open book. I really feel like, you know, if the characters are treated with reverence, and mythologically correct, then I’m down. I’m in. Let’s see what happens.”
He added:
“I’m pretty excited. I mean, we’re going to get Superman pretty soon, so we’ll see what that’s like.”
For now, though, James Gunn and Peter Safran remain focused on building the new DC Universe, while also developing various Elseworlds projects.
James Gunn Says Zack Snyder Has Supported the New DC Universe
Although fans often view the new DCU and Snyder’s vision as separate eras, James Gunn has repeatedly emphasized that Snyder has been supportive of the franchise’s new direction.
Speaking about Snyder, Gunn said:
“I didn’t, but I knew it already because he’s texted me. He’s been incredibly supportive throughout this process.”
As a result, the relationship between Snyder and the current leadership at DC Studios appears to be positive, even if there are no plans for an official collaboration at this time.
At the moment, Zack Snyder’s latest visit to Warner Bros. remains a mystery. While many fans hope that the filmmaker will one day return to direct another DC project, no evidence suggests that his recent meeting involved the franchise.
