“Without giving too much away, both stories are about theft, what theft means in one world versus the other, and what Batman’s form of justice looks like in each. That was the guiding principle that gave us the opportunity to tell two stories that celebrate each interpretation.”

Two Batmen, Two Very Different Solutions

Matt Fraction, who wrote the mainline Batman story, also explained how the issue places the two versions of Bruce Wayne side by side.

“One problem, two solutions. Each version of Batman has his own way of working and his own solution to that problem. The fun was putting them side by side so you can see the similarities, the differences, and the unique flavor and texture of each world.”

That approach gives Batman of Two Worlds a different kind of crossover experience. Rather than focusing entirely on an encounter between the characters, the issue examines what makes each version of Batman unique.

Absolute Batman Gets a New Creative Team

Nick Derington handles the artwork for the Absolute Batman story, with Frank Martin providing the colors and Tom Napolitano working on lettering. Meanwhile, Javi Fernández illustrates the main Batman story. Tomeu Morey handles the colors, while Clayton Cowles provides the lettering. The creative teams help give each story its own visual identity while keeping both parts connected through the central theme.
