Previously, James Gunn addressed fan theories connecting Adria Arjona with the Wonder Woman role.
The speculation increased after fans noticed that Gunn followed Arjona on Instagram. However, Gunn explained that their connection existed before the casting rumors.
“I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out [and thought], ‘He just followed her, that means she’s Wonder Woman.’”
Gunn also praised Arjona’s talent, saying:
“She’d be a great Wonder Woman, by the way.”
Furthermore, he clarified:
“She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We’ve been friends and have known each other since that time. I followed her then, I didn’t just follow her.”
