During a recent interview, James Gunn addressed questions about Ultraman. When asked directly whether the mysterious villain plays a role in Lex Luthor’s plan to create a “Superman kind of figure,” he offered a telling response.

“It’s close. Yeah, I think that’s close. Ultra Man is sort of Lex’s thug and is pretty powerful.”
Gunn also confirmed that Hammer of Boravia—who is believed to be Ultraman in disguise—has links to LuthorCorp, stating,
“Yes, totally. Lex is connected to everything. There’s nothing bad happening in Metropolis during this movie that doesn’t have some connection to Lex Luthor.”
Who Is Under the Mask?
So far, the identity of the actor playing Ultraman remains unknown. But fan speculation is at an all-time high. The damaged suit, aggressive design, and dark color palette have fans convinced there’s more to this version of Ultraman than meets the eye.
