In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET), Emmy Award winner Rachel Brosnahan shared intriguing details about the upcoming Superman reboot, “Superman: Legacy.” The DC Universe’s latest interpretation of the iconic character is set to introduce a humorous side to the Man of Steel, departing from the more serious tone of previous cinematic adaptations.

Known for her role in the acclaimed series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Brosnahan playfully hinted at her portrayal of Lois Lane in “Superman: Legacy,” describing her take as “feisty” and drawing a comparison to her character in the comedic series. This suggests a more light-hearted and charismatic approach to the Daily Planet’s renowned reporter.

During the interview, Brosnahan acknowledged the enthusiastic involvement of everyone behind the scenes. Directed by DC Studios CEO James Gunn, “Superman: Legacy” is being crafted by individuals deeply immersed in the lore of the Man of Steel. Brosnahan expressed her enjoyment of collaborating with James Gunn, emphasizing the shared love for Superman among the entire production team.

“I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far. Every single person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies. Some of us were reading the comics. So I feel like it’s being made with so much love. And I think this Superman will have a sense of humor,” she shared.

The casting choices for the film have also piqued interest. Brosnahan and David Corenswet, known for his roles in “The Politician” and “We Own This City,” will portray Lois Lane and Clark Kent, respectively. They emerged triumphant in the casting process, surpassing notable contenders for these iconic DC roles. Brosnahan expressed excitement about bringing their unique interpretations to the big screen.

“We’re excited to both put our own spin on things and honor the material we love so much.”

The shift towards a more humorous Superman marks a departure from the somber tone of Henry Cavill’s portrayal in the SnyderVerse’s “Man of Steel” and “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Brosnahan’s remarks suggest that “Superman: Legacy” aims to capture a more faithful representation of the character’s comic book persona, injecting joy and wit into the superhero narrative.

As anticipation builds for “Superman: Legacy,” fans can anticipate a fresh and entertaining take on the Man of Steel, promising laughter and a renewed connection to the beloved DC superhero.
