Howell is set to reprise her role as Martha Kent alongside Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jon Kent. The actress recently responded to a fan who expressed excitement about seeing the pair return in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow. The exchange has now sparked curiosity about what the Kents could face in the highly anticipated sequel.

The new movie will also show a different side of David Corenswet’s Superman. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Corenswet teased that Clark will be more mature when audiences see him again.
“The character is a little more mature. They’re going to go a little bit deeper.”
That suggests Man of Tomorrow will explore Clark beyond the early stage of his Superman journey established in Gunn’s first movie. Corenswet has also teased that the sequel will contain some “crazy stuff.”

Is Brainiac the Main Villain?
The identity of that larger threat remains unconfirmed. Brainiac has been widely speculated as the villain of Man of Tomorrow, with Lars Eidinger rumored for the role.
However, neither Gunn nor DC Studios has officially confirmed that Eidinger will play Brainiac. If the speculation proves accurate, Brainiac could give Superman and Lex a common enemy while forcing the two rivals into an uneasy alliance.
James Gunn Teases a Superman and Lex Story
Gunn has previously suggested that Lex will have an unusually important role in the sequel. According to Deadline, the filmmaker described Man of Tomorrow as “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.”
