The Batman: Part 2 Bruce Wayne storyline may be heading toward a major turning point, based on new set photos and videos from the sequel’s latest shoot.
The footage from Glasgow offers another look at Robert Pattinson’s return as Gotham’s troubled hero, while a separate sequence involving Andy Serkis’ Alfred Pennyworth has raised even more questions about what happens to Bruce.
The Batman: Part 2 Bruce Wayne Scene Raises Questions
New images from the Glasgow production show Pattinson alongside Serkis during filming for Matt Reeves’ sequel. Glasgow is once again being used as a stand-in for Gotham City, with the production capturing several scenes involving the movie’s returning characters. The latest material also provides another look at the updated Batsuit and the returning Batmobile. However, an earlier leaked sequence has attracted considerably more attention.
Bruce Wayne Is Reportedly in Serious Trouble
Earlier footage reportedly showed Bruce Wayne lying handcuffed in a street, with Alfred apparently performing CPR on him. The sequence has immediately raised questions about what could have happened before Bruce reached that point. One particularly interesting detail is that Bruce reportedly isn’t wearing the Batman costume.
That could indicate that the scene is connected to Bruce Wayne rather than Batman, although the footage does not provide enough context to determine exactly what is happening. Alfred’s presence also makes the moment more intriguing, considering how important his relationship with Bruce is within Reeves’ version of the story.
A Closer Look at the Updated Batsuit
The new Glasgow material also offers another glimpse at Pattinson’s updated Batsuit. The overall design remains recognizable from the 2022 movie, but fans have noticed subtle changes. The most noticeable differences appear to involve the shoulder and armor sections. Matt Reeves previously indicated that Batman’s costume would receive some small design adjustments for the sequel. The changes therefore appear to be refinements rather than a complete redesign.
The Batmobile Returns to Gotham
The production has also brought back the distinctive Batmobile from the first movie. The vehicle retains its muscular, heavily modified-car appearance instead of resembling a traditional futuristic superhero vehicle. That design fits Reeves’ grounded interpretation of Gotham and its vigilante. The new footage suggests that the Batmobile will once again play an important role in Bruce’s crime-fighting activities.
Andy Serkis Teases a Bigger Story
Andy Serkis has previously praised the screenplay for The Batman: Part 2 while carefully avoiding any spoilers.
Speaking about the script, Serkis said:
“It’s amazing. It’s a great script, it really is. And again, I’m not going to say anything whatsoever about it.”
Serkis also confirmed his return as Alfred after scheduling conflicts were resolved. His involvement in the latest production footage suggests that Alfred remains an important part of Bruce’s story.
Who Stars in The Batman: Part 2?
Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The sequel’s cast also includes:
- Scarlett Johansson
- Sebastian Stan
- Colin Farrell
- Jeffrey Wright

Matt Reeves is directing the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin.
What Could Happen to Bruce?
The Batman: Part 2 Bruce Wayne speculation remains centered on the mysterious handcuffed sequence. Without additional footage or an official explanation, it is impossible to determine whether Bruce has been captured, injured, arrested, or placed in another dangerous situation.
However, the fact that Alfred appears to be desperately trying to save him suggests that the sequel could push Bruce to an even more vulnerable position than the first movie. Reeves’ grounded approach also leaves plenty of room for Bruce’s personal life to become increasingly important alongside his activities as Batman.
The Batman: Part 2 Release Date
The Batman: Part 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.As filming continues, more set photos could reveal additional clues about Bruce Wayne’s mysterious situation. For now, the latest footage has given fans another reason to wonder whether The Batman: Part 2 Bruce Wayne storyline will deliver one of the sequel’s biggest turning points.
