The Batman: Part 2 Set Photo May Have Revealed a New Villain!

The Batman: Part 2 Set Photo

The Batman: Part 2 set photo has sparked fresh speculation about the villains who could appear in Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel.

New photos from the production show Bruce Wayne being escorted from a courthouse while protesters gather around the steps. However, the signs held by the crowd may be more important than the scene itself. Several signs reference the “Court of Fowls,” wealth inequality, oligarchs, and resistance. These details have quickly fueled theories that the Court of Owls could play a major role in the sequel.

The Batman: Part 2 set photo Teases the Court of Owls

The protest scene contains several intriguing details. Most notably, one sign references the “Court of Fowls,” which appears to be a deliberate nod to the Court of Owls from DC Comics.

The secretive organization has deep connections to Gotham’s wealthy elite. It operates from the shadows and has historically controlled parts of the city through powerful families and hidden influence. The references to wealth inequality and oligarchs also fit the group’s comic-book history.

Therefore, The Batman: Part 2 set photo could be offering an early clue about the direction of Reeves’ story. However, the signs alone do not confirm that the Court of Owls will appear. They could also serve as world-building details within Gotham’s increasingly unstable political and social environment.

Anarky Could Also Appear in The Batman: Part 2 Set Photos

Another The Batman: Part 2 Set Photo has created speculation about a completely different character: Anarky. Also known as Lonnie Machin, Anarky first appeared in Detective Comics in the late 1980s. The character is known for his intelligence and extreme anti-government and anti-corporate beliefs. He often challenges established authority and uses technology and strategy to pursue his goals.

A figure visible in another photo appears to resemble Anarky. Still, fans should be careful with this theory. The image could simply contain an Easter egg rather than confirm Lonnie Machin’s involvement. If Anarky does appear, however, his ideology could fit naturally into the social unrest shown in the new footage.

Sebastian Stan Keeps His Batman: Part 2 Role Mysterious

Sebastian Stan has also added fuel to the sequel’s mystery by discussing the ongoing speculation surrounding his character. Stan said:

“Look, there’s no way to keep any secret anymore. What I’ll say is this: there’s no way people will fully grasp how this movie is until they see it. I go to set sometimes and I look around and I’m like, I think we’re making [frick]ing The Godfather Part Two. I feel that highly about it. Matt has spent three years working on it. There’s a lot of speculation about these roles, about what this movie is, but I think it’s going to be a good payoff — it’s really grounded and real, and that’s what I loved about it. You want to tease it a little, but we still have a long time.”

Stan was initially reported by trades to be playing Harvey Dent, who eventually becomes Two-Face. However, the role was never officially confirmed. Later rumors claimed that Stan could instead be playing Victor Zsasz. His comments therefore offer little clarity about his actual character.

Scarlett Johansson’s Role Remains a Mystery

Scarlett Johansson is also surrounded by casting speculation. The actress is rumored to be playing a version of Poison Ivy. Recently, a blonde woman believed by some fans to be Johansson’s stunt double was spotted riding in the Batmobile. That sighting has only added to speculation surrounding her role. Still, Matt Reeves has not confirmed which character Johansson is playing. The director has also kept the roles of several other new cast members under wraps.

The Batman: Part 2 Cast Continues to Expand

Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham. The returning cast is joined by Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.

Despite the growing cast, Reeves has not revealed the characters being played by the new additions. That secrecy has encouraged fans to examine every set photo and filming detail for potential clues. As a result, The Batman: Part 2 set photo featuring Bruce Wayne and the protesters could become particularly important if the Court of Owls or Anarky ultimately appears.

When Will The Batman: Part 2 Release?

The Batman: Part 2 has faced multiple delays during its development. The sequel is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 18, 2028.

With filming continuing and Reeves keeping major story details secret, more set photos could provide additional clues about Gotham’s next major threat. For now, the Court of Owls and Anarky remain theories rather than confirmed characters.
