The DC Studios co-chief recently responded to a fan asking whether audiences would see more of the fan-favorite character. Gunn’s brief answer did not reveal a project, but it certainly fueled speculation.
Vigilante’s Return in DCU Gets a One-Word Tease
A fan directly asked Gunn about Adrian Chase, better known as Vigilante, and made a simple request.
“Just tell me we’re seeing more adrian in something, please.”
Gunn responded with just one word:
“Ok.”
While the response does not confirm a specific project, it immediately caught fans’ attention. After all, Gunn could have simply ignored the question or avoided giving an answer. Instead, his response appears to suggest that Adrian Chase still has a place somewhere in the DCU.
Why Vigilante’s Return in DCU Became a Fan-Favorite?
Freddie Stroma first portrayed Vigilante in Season 1 of Peacemaker. The character quickly became one of the show’s standout personalities because of his chaotic behavior, strange sense of humor, and extreme approach to fighting criminals. Adrian also developed a close friendship with Peacemaker.
Vigilante even forcefully joined Project Butterfly during the first season and later suffered serious injuries during the climactic barn battle. However, those experiences never stopped him from throwing himself into dangerous situations.
That relationship could become particularly important following the events of Season 2.
Vigilante’s Return in DCU Could Return to Rescue Peacemaker
By the end of Peacemaker Season 2, Vigilante and Peacemaker found themselves separated. Peacemaker remained stranded on the prison planet Salvation, creating a potentially major storyline for the future.
As a result, Vigilante could return as part of an effort to rescue his friend. His connection with Peacemaker would give Adrian a natural reason to become involved, while his unpredictable personality could make the mission even more entertaining. However, Gunn has not confirmed that storyline.
Could Vigilante Appear in Man of Tomorrow?
Another possibility has sparked even more speculation. Fans have wondered whether Vigilante could appear in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow. Previously released set photos showed a location that some viewers believe resembles the Salvation planet from Peacemaker Season 2. That connection has led to theories that the prison planet could play a role in the upcoming DCU movie.
Gunn has also confirmed that Salvation is one of two major aspects of his DC story. Therefore, its potential connection to Man of Tomorrow has given fans plenty to discuss. Still, neither Gunn nor DC Studios has confirmed Vigilante’s involvement in the movie.
Peacemaker Season 3 Could Bring Him Back
Peacemaker Season 3 also remains a possibility, although DC Studios has not officially confirmed another season. The series has earned a strong response across its first two seasons, and Vigilante remains one of its most recognizable supporting characters.
If the story continues, Adrian Chase would have plenty of unfinished business with Peacemaker. Moreover, the events surrounding Salvation could provide a natural starting point for another chapter. For now, however, fans can only speculate about where Gunn plans to take the character.

Gunn’s “Ok” does not confirm Vigilante’s next appearance. Nevertheless, it is enough to suggest that Adrian Chase may not have disappeared from the DCU after Peacemaker Season 2. The character has become too popular to overlook, and his relationship with Peacemaker gives Gunn several ways to bring him back. Whether that happens in Peacemaker Season 3, Man of Tomorrow, or another DCU project remains unclear.
