While DC Studios has yet to announce the cast for its upcoming Brave and the Bold movie, WWE veteran Randy Orton has expressed interest in the role. He wants to portray DCU’s Batman. The film doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet. However, it is expected to introduce the Dark Knight to James Gunn’s new DC Universe.
Randy Orton Expresses Interest in Playing DCU’s Batman
In a recent interaction on social media, Randy Orton made it clear that he’s open to stepping into the role of DCU’s Batman.
On July 12, Orton took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to a question from ScreenTime that asked,
“Who do you think should play Batman in James Gunn’s DCU?”
He added a waving hand emoji to the repost—suggesting he’s volunteering for the role of Bruce Wayne.
Fans had mixed responses to the idea of Orton playing the Caped Crusader. However, fellow WWE wrestler Xavier Woods (also known as Austin Creed) showed support by commenting:
“I second this.”
Woods even pitched a potential role for himself, writing:
“And if you need a Riddler then I got you.”
Could Randy Orton Fit the Role of the Dark Knight?
Randy Orton currently has only a handful of acting credits. He appeared in supporting roles in That’s What I Am (2011), Changeland (2019), and the Shooter series. Notably, Orton also starred in two action films: 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded and The Condemned 2.
Although he has limited acting experience, Orton’s intense presence and physical stature could very well align with the version of DCU’s Batman that James Gunn is developing. In fact, his transition from the wrestling ring to a superhero film might seem unlikely—however, it’s not impossible in today’s evolving Hollywood landscape.
As of now, neither James Gunn nor DC Studios has publicly responded to Orton’s interest in the role. Still, with casting yet to be finalized, Orton’s post has added an unexpected name to the conversation surrounding the future Dark Knight of the DCU.
